CUTTING AND COUNTING SUPERVISION
Our plants are cut during morning hours in order to keep them fresh and avoid water loss. Depending on the customers’ requirements we can cut the stems at the length they request even though there are established parameters.
The tips are counted manually at the field and with counting meters prior to putting them into the shipping box. Additional to this, each packed box is weighed to verify that it carries the minimum weight per variety.
DIPPING
Besides the phytosanitary controls held in our plantation of the monthly supervision done by PIPPA of the Ministry of Agriculture of Guatemala, prior to packaging, all of our plants are thoroughly revised and go through a dipping in order to minimize pathogen risks that could arise with the temperature changes during its transportation to its final destination.
PACKAGING AND TRANSPORTATION
All of our plants are packed in corrugated cardboard boxes with a resistance test of 275 which allows safe stowing. The inside of each box has a liner that maintains the humidity of the plants. We also use materials that help keep the moisture of the tips during its transportation (normally it is moist newspaper) with the idea of avoiding dehydration. The boxes are labeled on the outside and inside with the customers’ information so that we can keep track of the greenhouse and sector where it was cut as well as who the cutter was.boxes are transported in our own truck during evening hours.
